Nduka Ebere Wonu (NEW) is an author, researcher, educational consultant and a lecturer (mathematics educator) in the department of Mathematics/Statistics, Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Education He obtained his Bachelor degree (B.Sc) in Pure and Applied Mathematics in 1998 and a Master of Science degree (M.Sc) in Applied Geophysics in 2008 from Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He later ventured into the discipline of Education, bagging a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PDEd) in 2008 and a Master degree (M.Ed) in Mathematics Education in 2012 from University of Port Harcourt. NEW is currently a Ph.D student of Mathematics education.
Research His research interest is in Mathematics Learning Disabilities (MLD), Metacognition, Executive function, Comorbidity and Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) particularly among secondary students. He has participated as a speaker in both national and international conferences and has published many articles in local and international journals.
Educational consultancy He is an academic workshop facilitator certified by Applied Scholastics International, USA, (http://www.appliedscholastics.org) and Schlumberger Excellence in Education Development, SEED (http://www.planetseed.com). He has participated as workshop facilitator/trainer for Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board (RSUBEB), National Teachers Institute (NTI), Schlumberger Excellence in Educational Development, SEED, Eugenia Anaekwe Foundation, Datarmatics Integrated Services Limited (DISL) etc.
Unique skills NEW is an advanced digital research statistician, competent in the use of mathematical and statistical research software packages ( eg. SPSS, Eviews, Ingraph, Matlab, GraphPad, etc). He is also skilled in the design of innovative instructional strategies (module) for use in the secondary schools, Robotics engineering using GoGo Board, Digital animations with Scratch program and Computer Assisted Instruction(CAI)
